Question

What brings about life change in a person? I'm not speaking specifically about conversion, but about change in general.

GO.

i think one of the biggest things has to be accepting the fact that we are responsible for our choices (and therefore change in our life). I am learning that desire is not really all that magical, it is action that makes the difference.

I believe the answer comes by adding "D" to your "GO." We are of course called to speak and live His Truth, but only God knows exactly when one particular heart--on one unique journey--is ready for true change. My part is letting go of personal desires and expectations (which can be obstacles to His grace), believing (without condition) that true change is actually possible, and trusting that our sovereign God actually has specific purpose and plan in all that happens--even when I can't understand it. This is how I see the forgiving (loving) father of the prodigal son. It's not the easy way (from a human viewpoint) but I have become convinced that it's the only way (as I understand God's divine viewpoint).
